Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, the "Paris of South America," your local guide and transportation will transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, the day is yours to relax or delve into the city's charm with an optional city tour upon request. Discover the elegant architecture, bustling avenues, and historic neighborhoods like La Boca with its colorful Caminito, the grand Plaza de Mayo, and the sophisticated Recoleta with its famous cemetery. In the evening, perhaps enjoy a delicious Argentine dinner and experience the passion of a tango show.
Today, you'll take a domestic flight from Buenos Aires to El Calafate, the gateway to Patagonia's glaciers, and where your local team will be ready to receive you. From El Calafate, a scenic drive will take you to El Chaltén, Argentina's trekking capital, nestled at the foot of Mount Fitz Roy. After checking into your hotel, take time to explore the hotel property and its amenities, perhaps unwinding with a hot yerba mate and soaking in the mountain views. Your hotel property and its amenities will provide a comfortable base for your Patagonian adventures.
These days in El Chaltén are yours to further immerse yourself in this outdoor paradise. You'll embark on the iconic Laguna de los Tres Trek hike of 8-10 hours to the Fitz Roy viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas of the majestic Fitz Roy massif. After gathering amazing pictures and a rewarding hike, take this evening to rest and perhaps check in at the spa. We would gladly reserve a session for you upon request.
On your last day at El Chalten, enjoy a short, refreshing hike to the picturesque Chorrillo del Salto Waterfall, surrounded by stunning Patagonian scenery. In the evening, enjoy time on your own exploring the charming town, enjoying local cuisine, or simply relaxing and absorbing the serene mountain environment.
After three nights surrounded by the peaks of El Chaltén, you'll embark on a picturesque 3-hour drive back to El Calafate. Arrive in the afternoon and check into your new hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore your hotel property, the amenities like the spa, and prepare for the next day. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll around the town of El Calafate, known for its chocolate shops and Patagonian lamb.
Get ready for an awe-inspiring day at the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier! You'll experience this natural wonder up close with a thrilling mini-trekking adventure directly on the glacier itself — with crampons and a specialized guide — feel the ancient ice beneath your feet and witness its incredible blue hues! Afterward, you'll explore the extensive network of walkways (pasarelas) at the Perito Moreno Viewpoint, offering various perspectives and unparalleled photographic opportunities of the glacier's towering ice walls. Listen for the thunderous calvings as massive chunks of ice break off and crash into the water.
Today, embark on a full-day boat tour on Lago Argentino, offering a different perspective of Patagonia's grand glaciers.
