Andean Adventure is your gateway to transformative journeys along the Andes' spine of the world-a symphony of landscapes from the enchanted Galápagos Islands and whispering wild Patagonia to the high-altitude crucible of the Andean Plateau, Cloud Forests, and Amazon Rainforest. We craft bespoke adventures across Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina, blending relaxed family escapes with high-impact expeditions tailored to birding, spiritual quests, or academic pursuits. At our core: cultural reciprocity through deep immersion with local partners, sustainable stewardship of fragile ecosystems like volcanoes and rare species, and joyful, wisdom-honoring exploration that dares you to risk going too far (as T.S. Eliot said). It's about empowering resilience in unfamiliar terrains, recharging your soul with vibrant colors and resonant sounds, and inspiring wonder that sparks lifelong stories. Ready to whisper to the wild? Dare the uncharted-it's all about you and your goals.
We don’t book trips—we curate awakenings. Every itinerary is sculpted to your rhythm: serene coastal resets for the weary, summit ascents for the driven, or family-friendly discoveries that delight every generation. Our partners are the land’s lifelong stewards—paisanos in the highlands, bird guides who read the wind, families who welcome you with coca tea and stories. No fixed routes; only journeys that flex to your pulse. Travel arrives effortlessly: private charters over turquoise lagoons when time is precious, or seamless first-class transfers to lodges warmed by fresh bread and local wine. Guides with decades of Andean memory carry oxygen kits, emergency beacons, and the quiet confidence that turns altitude into a footnote. You arrive as guests; you leave transformed.
Yes, we can work with you to accommodate the tweaks you would like to do to the itinerary of your interest. Schedule a call with us to go over the itinerary of your choice and refine the details.
Due to the nature of private trips we design, our travelers can make the trip as flexible as they would like during the planning stage. Once we have set the pace of the trip, we can refine the details and book it. Keep in mind that, depending on the destinations, remoteness, and logistical feasibility, you may join another small group for other activities and excursions.
The group is only your party. While you may join another small group for certain activities, such as a walk or canoe ride in the Amazon rainforest or a hike to Las Torres in Patagonia, the majority of the trip is designed for your group only.
The accommodations go from luxurious lodges to rustic inns or even camping. We have carefully selected the accommodation providers we work with, and you will decide the preferred accommodation for your trip. You can see the photos and the option within a specific itinerary sample. Additionally, consider that some of these destinations are located in remote areas where services are limited, which will increase the cost of services due to the logistical and complex nature of maintenance, communication, water, food supply, and transportation in these particular remote locations. However, we do our best to provide the best option possible for you to be comfortable and very well taken care of.
We have organized our trip itineraries into four categories listed on our destinations page, which will give you an idea of the length of the trip, a brief description of the terrain, altitude, distances, and ecosystems you may immerse yourself in. We recommend preparing yourself physically for any adventure and booking the trip in advance to allow you to plan accordingly.
We keep portable oxygen on hand for anyone who requests it, completely complimentary. Altitude is part of the majesty, yet never a barrier. We supply portable oxygen for you, discreetly packed in your guide or porter's gear. Days are calibrated for comfort: gradual ascents, acclimation nights at boutique altitude lodges, and seamless transport options if you prefer.
Given the variety of destinations, activities, and accommodation options for each itinerary, we suggest scheduling a call with us to obtain the most realistic idea of the trip package you are interested in. Our website displays the sign dollar on each itinerary to give you an idea of the trip value compared to the rest of our menu. In contrast, other companies may provide you with a tentative price or a “starting” price. We are inclined to provide you with a real price at the moment of the quote rather than disappoint you with prices that differ from what is publish in the website. What we suggest is planning very in advance to mitigate value shock or unavailability of entrances, as is the case with Machu Picchu and for certain activities in Patagonia.
Yes, we have protocols in place for risk mitigation. At the same time, we strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance within 10 days after booking your trip. Our staff in the field will support you during the length of our services in the country of visit. We are fortunate to have a medical advisor and specialized partners in each destination with whom we work together in the event of an emergency. Additionally, we will provide you with an emergency number before your departure date.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your trip. In case of traveling with a minor, we suggest having the documentation required if it’s only one parent traveling with them. Bolivia is the only country in which we operate that requires a visa for United States citizens. We can support you in this process and provide you with the necessary information and guidance to obtain the visa.
While most destinations are available all year round, Patagonia has a short window for visiting, so booking trips to Patagonia in advance is key. Most destinations can be understood as having two main seasons: a rainy season and a dry season. For hikes and treks, it’s recommended during the dry season, while the rainy season in Bolivia allows for experiencing the mirror effect in the salt flats of Uyuni. The Andean region's daily forecast is constantly changing, so you can experience all four seasons in just one day —to give you an idea. Schedule a call with us to help you plan your next adventure.
Part of our responsibility as a tour operator is to work with local providers who operate in a manner that preserves the ecosystems and places we operate. As part of our efforts, we provide our travelers with the necessary information to prepare for their trip. We have created a Pledge that helps our travelers understand what to expect during visits to these destinations and what actions to take before arriving at their desired destination. We are constantly learning and in touch with local providers, regulatory entities, and governments to update our information for travelers and encourage best practices for both travelers and ourselves as operators of these trips. Finally, we partner with private entities that work in preservation to obtain firsthand educational workshops, the most current projects, and active efforts in order to support fragile ecosystems.
Our Founder, Angela, is part of the “local” communities as well, meaning that she was born and raised in Ecuador and has in-depth knowledge about how the travel industry operates in Ecuador and the other countries we work with. This experience allows her to ensure that our chain of services is distributed among micro businesses as well as local, well-established South American companies that employ hundreds of people. The variety of stakeholders in our service chain enables us to maintain a balance between different types of providers, both directly and indirectly related to the trips our guests book. There are more people than you see, making your adventure possible. We focus our efforts on delivering high-quality hospitality, not on working with the cheapest partner to reduce prices and balance it with volume.
Unexpected events can disrupt travel, so understanding cancellation terms and the necessity of a comprehensive travel insurance, especially for medical evacuation, is crucial. We will provide you with our terms and conditions at the moment you are ready to book, or you can also review them in our Terms of Service page. After booking your trip with us, we will provide you with the information needed to purchase your travel insurance.
