Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Your Peruvian adventure begins with a late evening arrival at Lima's Jorge Chávez International Airport. After clearing customs and immigration, you'll be met by your local guide who will assist with your transfer to your hotel in Lima, allowing you to settle in and prepare for your adventure ahead.

Day 2: Cusco & Sacred Valley Exploration

This morning, depart Lima on a scenic flight to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you to the Sacred Valley, a lush agricultural region nestled between Andean peaks. As you descend into the valley's warm and welcoming microclimates, you'll have the opportunity to delve into its rich history and vibrant culture through various activities. Options include visiting the bustling Pisac market, renowned for its colorful textiles and local crafts; exploring the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo; or experiencing a traditional Andean village.

Day 3: Maras Salt Terraces & Moray

Today is dedicated to exploring two of the Sacred Valley's most fascinating sites. You'll embark on a full-day hike to the Maras Salt Terraces, an intricate network of thousands of salt pans that have been harvested since Inca times. The stark white and ochre terraces against the green valley provide a stunning photographic opportunity. Afterward, you'll continue to Moray, an extraordinary Inca agricultural laboratory consisting of massive circular terraces. The unique design suggests the Incas experimented with different microclimates for cultivating various crops.

Day 4: Inca Trail Short Hike to Machu Picchu

Prepare for an unforgettable day! Your guide will accompany you to Ollantaytambo, where you'll board a train to begin a short Inca Trail. From there, embark on a relatively short yet rewarding hike through lush cloud forests, catching glimpses of ancient Inca ruins. The trek culminates in your first breathtaking views of Machu Picchu from the iconic Inti Punku (Sun Gate). After soaking in the panoramic vistas, descend into Aguas Calientes for a transfer to your hotel, where you can relax with a spa session —we would gladly reserve it for you upon request.

Day 5: Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu Ascent

Today is the highlight of your trip: exploring the magnificent Machu Picchu. In the morning, you'll embark on a guided adventure of this ancient citadel, learning about its history, architecture, and the mysteries that still surround it. If you are seeking an additional challenge and unparalleled views, you'll have the opportunity to hike Huayna Picchu, the towering peak overlooking Machu Picchu (permits are limited and must be booked far in advance). In the evening, unwind at your hotel property with a twilight walk, a guided stroll around the hotel grounds to experience the sights and sounds of the cloud forest as night falls.

Day 6: Nature & Return to Cusco

Start your day with a deeper connection to the natural beauty surrounding your hotel. You can choose between two enriching activities: a Guided Gardens/Birdwatching Walk to discover the diverse flora and fauna of the Andean cloud forest, or an Orchids Excursion to marvel at the incredible variety of orchids found in the region. In the afternoon, you'll take a scenic train from Aguas Calientes back to your meeting point and transfer to Cusco, where you'll have the evening to relax and reflect on your adventure.

Day 7: Andean Lake or Rainbow Mountain Adventure

Today offers a choice of two incredible high-altitude hikes. You can opt for a challenging but rewarding hike to Humantay Lake, a stunning turquoise glacial lake nestled beneath snow-capped peaks. Alternatively, you can embark on an unforgettable trek to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), a geological wonder with vibrant mineral stripes creating a spectacular natural tapestry. Horse support is optional for those who prefer it. Both options offer breathtaking Andean landscapes and a profound sense of accomplishment. Humantay Lake is located in the Andean Vilcabamba Mountain range. Rainbow Mountain is located in the Andean Vilcanota Mountain range.

Day 8: Cusco's Treasures & Departure

Your final day in Cusco begins with exploring some of the city's most significant historical and cultural sites. You'll visit Qoricancha, the opulent Inca Temple of the Sun, and the impressive Inca fortress of Sacsayhuamán, known for its massive stone walls. You'll also experience the lively atmosphere of a local market, where you can browse traditional crafts and observe daily life. After lunch, you'll be transferred to Cusco airport for your flight back to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, you'll receive airport assistance to connect with your international flight home smoothly.

Day 9: Arrive Home

Thank you for spending eight wonderful days with us!
