Day 2: Cloud Forest Immersion

Today marks the transition to a completely different world. After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive through the changing landscapes of Ecuador, heading towards the lush, biodiverse realm of Mashpi, Andean Chocó Biosphere Reserve. As the altitude decreases, the vegetation will become increasingly dense and vibrant, signaling arrival at the cloud forest. Check into the lodge and spend the afternoon becoming acquainted with the sights and sounds of this magical environment. Perhaps a short introductory walk will reveal the incredible array of flora and fauna that call Mashpi home.

Day 3: Exploring Mashpi, A World of Biodiversity

A full day dedicated to immersing yourself in the wonders of Mashpi. Upon arrival in Papallacta, check into your accommodation and prepare to unwind in the naturally heated mineral pools. Day 5: Discovering Papallacta. Highland Beauty & Relaxation

Today is dedicated to embracing the tranquility and natural beauty of Papallacta. You can spend the day enjoying the various thermal pools, each with its unique mineral composition and temperature. For those seeking more active pursuits, there are opportunities for gentle hikes in the surrounding paramo (moorlands), offering views of high-altitude flora and fauna. Day 6: Journey to the Amazon

This morning, you will journey back towards Quito to catch a flight to the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Upon arrival at the Amazonian airstrip, you'll be transferred by motorized canoe along winding rivers to your jungle lodge. The sights and sounds will immediately shift —the humid air, the dense green foliage, and the calls of exotic birds will signal your deep immersion into the world's largest rainforest. Settle into your lodge and enjoy an introductory activity, perhaps a guided walk to learn about the local flora and fauna or a nighttime canoe ride to spot nocturnal wildlife.

Day 7 & 8: Wildlife Encounters & Jungle Immersion

These two full days will be dedicated to exploring the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest. Guided by experienced local naturalists, you will enjoy a small group and will embark on various excursions. These might include jungle treks to discover medicinal plants and spot monkeys, birdwatching expeditions to witness the vibrant avian life, canoe trips along the rivers and tributaries to observe caiman and other wildlife, and hiking through forest trails to the Kichwa community of Añangu to learn about their traditions and way of life. Marvel in the quiet morning to visit Parrot Clay Licks and the fantastic view of the Amazon Rainforest from the Canopy Tower, at a height of 120 feet. Day 9: Farewell Amazon, Return to Quito, and Departure

After a final early morning in the Amazon, you will take a motorized canoe back to the airstrip for your flight back to Quito. Upon arrival in Quito, you will be transferred directly to the international airport to catch your flight back to your home country, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Ecuador's diverse landscapes, incredible wildlife, and the warm hospitality from the Ecuadorians you met during your visit.
